Bone Cyst Stem Cells

2 y.o. arab colt with gradually increasing RH lameness (3/5 lame). Lameness blocks out with pastern ring block. Digital Radiographs of the RH pastern show a large, mid-sagittal, subchondral, proximal P2 bone cyst that was increasing in size over a 2 month period. Drilled into P2 cyst, packed with cancellous bone graft mixed with fat-derived stem cells. Significant healing of cyst 35 days postop and horse sound at that time. Horse remains sound on RH 6 months after surgery, in regular work.
