Before bringing your horse to Cave Creek Equine Surgical &
Diagnostic Imaging Center, please be sure that we have access to your
previous medical records if they are important to the case. Please be
sure to notify us of any special requirements your horse may need during
their hospitalization. Most surgical procedures and MRI appointments
require that the horse be kept off food 8 to 12 hours before the
scheduled procedure. All horses coming for an MRI should have all 4
shoes pulled prior to admission to the hospital. Horse shoes are not
compatible with the large magnets of the MRI.
